These days, I am very rarely surprised by a whole Peterson line that I didn’t know about prior to getting the actual pipe… You can imagine my surprise when I saw this one, especially since it is a line that speaks to me in such a big way…

Now, this is what I found in my research — the line is the perfect example of why the Palmer Era produced some of the most interesting modern Peterson pipes. They were simply not afraid to experiment and innovate.

The Old English Collection was introduced in 1996. The briar was of a very high grade, as you can see from the photos, and the most exciting part for me is the shapes… 12 shapes in total, all with spacious chambers, but Peterson made sure to stay in line with the design and size of classic English pipes from the 1930s and 40s.

The 119 is my personal favourite of the line, mainly because of its compact size.

Those of you who know me personally will know that there was just no way I wouldn’t want to keep this one, but yet again one of my collection rules comes back to bite me… The pipe is unsmoked… and I just can’t keep those…

Condition note: you would think that a NOS pipe wouldn’t need a note like this, but we have some slight handling or factory scratches/imperfections on the top of the rim.

One more thing is the stem — you can see that it doesn’t have my signature mirror finish. This is because most factory stems are not finished to the same standard as my restored ones. I decided to leave it like this, at least for the photos, to show off the difference. This being said, if you decide to buy this pipe and would like me to finish it up to my standards, just let me know and I will gladly do it at no additional charge.

The pipes go through one final check before shipping, so if you notice any inconsistencies in the carnauba finish or smudges they will be taken care of before your pipe is shipped to you.
