This specific pipe has some of the most beautiful straight grain I have seen on a Pete, but honestly, I had some trouble putting a grade on it, mainly because of two details…

The first one is quite straightforward — there is a hairline surface crack/scratch on the bottom of the button. I ran it through some pretty intense tests, which I use whenever I am doing a repair, and I am 100% sure that it will never develop into an issue. Still, to be on the safe side, I will extend my 1-year repair warranty to this stem, meaning that if any further development or issue occurs within the next year, you will get a full refund or trade-in.

The second detail worth noting is the bulldog bead lines around the rim — the cap isn’t perfectly parallel to the bead lines, but this is 100% how the pipe came from the factory.

It is still a stunning pipe, just with a bit of extra character.
