This lovely pipe turned out to be an unexpected rarity. The line is not rare, and neither is the shape number, but put those two together and all of a sudden I am unable to find a single pipe online for reference…

Let this pipe be an example of how important the stem is to the overall look and feel of a pipe. You see, the classic Shape 53 is a stout and muscular Lovat with a short and stubby stem, but if we put an army mount on it and add a slender, elegant stem, we end up with one of the most elegant straight Peterson billiards that I have ever seen!

Condition note: there is a tiny tooth mark on the underside of the stem. Like always, when I decide to leave something like that in, it means that I don’t think it is bad enough to justify sanding good vulcanite away or repairing it with glue.

The pipes go through one final check before shipping, so if you notice any inconsistencies in the carnauba finish or smudges they will be taken care of before your pipe is shipped to you.
