I have said this before, but for any newcomers — before the Golden Supreme grade, Peterson’s highest grade was the De Luxe. So if you pick up an old De Luxe, it is at least equal to the modern Supremes, and when we take the older materials and quality standards into consideration you end up with an even superior pipe.

Even though their absolute top grade was the De Luxe, a few exceptional pipes that exceeded the grade got some special attention, and a hand-cut stem was made specifically for them.

Dating this pipe was actually a bit tricky, but this is how it went:

No hallmarks = 1938–1968
Republic stamp = earliest 1949

This specific silver stamp design is not seen on the earliest Republic pipes from the late 40s and 50s, and with the aluminum condenser, this puts the pipe in the 1963–1968 range.

The pipes go through one final check before shipping, so if you notice any inconsistencies in the carnauba finish or smudges they will be taken care of before your pipe is shipped to you.
