Like most Dunhill Patent-era pipes, this one has an extremely organic and mesmerizing deep, gnarly sandblast.

Pipes from the 1940s can actually be a bit hit or miss, because WWII had a huge negative impact on all English pipe makers, but it is obvious that this one is one of the big hits for sure… it rivals even some of the earlier pipes.

What I love most about it, though, is the shape. It is still classic and traditional, but at the same time I haven’t seen any modern Dunhill with a very similar shape. It is just so compact, but at the same time not too small — an absolute dream to clench.

Last but not least, the production year is pretty special. 1945 is the year WWII ended, so I like to imagine that a bit of extra love went into this particular pipe, with everyone at the factory simply happy that the war was finally coming to an end.

The pipes go through one final check before shipping, so if you notice any inconsistencies in the carnauba finish or smudges they will be taken care of before your pipe is shipped to you.
