I recently had the pleasure of assisting a friend in acquiring a full boxed collection of unsmoked Kildare B shapes, and this was my first hands-on experience with these amazing pipes.

The B shapes are very seldom seen or even documented by Peterson — they are all original shapes that started their lives as limited editions or Pipes of the Year.

I was surprised to see amazing briar on all of them — really nice stain, no fills or flaws, and dramatic grain. Most pipes that I have seen from this line had straight grain, although usually not the super-tight, Supreme-level straight grain.

Last, and definitely not least, is something that I truly love seeing — a lot of the natural grain texture of the briar has been left peeking through as relief.

Condition note: this pipe has been smoked only a couple of times, evident from the light charring marks in the chamber.

The pipes go through one final check before shipping, so if you notice any inconsistencies in the carnauba finish or smudges they will be taken care of before your pipe is shipped to you.
