After restoring the XL88 Emerald Straight Dublin, I went through some of the other pipes waiting in the restoration queue and was very happy to find another interesting Dublin shape — the 120F.

Compared to the XL88, this one is much finer and more elegant. The “F” stands for “Flat,” referring to the oval / flattened shank, and it only adds to the slender profile of the pipe. The 120F is also an old Peterson shape, first documented in the 1930s and seen in the catalogs into the 1960s, so it has quite a bit of history behind it.

Then we have the De Luxe stamp, which is just the cherry on top. The De Luxe was Peterson’s top Classic Range grade for decades, sitting at the very top before the Supreme appeared, so you expect excellent briar, clean finishing and beautiful grain.

The pipes go through one final check before shipping, so if you notice any inconsistencies in the carnauba finish or smudges they will be taken care of before your pipe is shipped to you.
