Peterson Dublin 3 Straight Billiard — Pre-Republic, Late 1930s

Condition note: there is a bit of chatter on the outside edge of the rim, but there is no way I am sanding this beautiful stain away.

I had so much fun trying to date this stunning Pete. Even though it was a challenge because of the lack of a COM stamp and even a shape stamp, I managed to date it to the late 1930s.

You can see very similar pipes in the 1939 catalog, and this dark stain is something you mostly see on the very old Petes.

I love the fact that even though this was their third quality back then, there are fewer flaws than on many modern Pipes of the Year or other high-priced releases.

I just wish more people realized that Peterson made some amazing straight pipes too, and not only bent ones.

The pipes go through one final check before shipping, so if you notice any inconsistencies in the carnauba finish or smudges they will be taken care of before your pipe is shipped to you.
