Huber Munich has a very special partnership with Peterson’s, going at least as far back as the 1940s (at least that’s as far as my evidence goes).

Because of this long and happy relationship, we get some incredible pipes — often made specifically for Huber, with unique shapes or lines you won’t find in the regular Peterson catalogs. In my experience, the briar used for these “special” Huber pipes is also some of the best available at the time.

Fun fact: Peterson was making POY pipes for Huber before they were even making Peterson POYs.

I’m mentioning that for a reason: this gorgeous pipe has basically all the Huber POY-style nomenclature, except for the “Huber Celebration” stamp. Instead, it has the “Huber Premier Selected” one — which means someone at the factory manually chose this specific block for Huber. If you ever find a “Private Selection” one, that would mean someone from Huber personally chose the block at the factory.

Either way: a very rare piece of Peterson history, and in amazing condition.
