If you know me, you know that I usually don’t care much for rusticated pipes, but here I have to admit that I like this one more than the smooth version of the same pipe…

This is Peterson’s earlier rustication, and it is gorgeous. Especially on an oversized pipe, they had much more room to work with and make it as deep and craggy as they wanted. The tactile feel of this big beauty is simply unmatched.

Dating the pipe has, of course, been made almost impossible because of the special “Scales” hallmark, but in my experience this hallmark was mostly used in the late 1980s. That would mean this is once again one of the earliest XXL Hand Made pipes produced during the Republic era.

The pipes go through one final check before shipping, so if you notice any inconsistencies in the carnauba finish or smudges they will be taken care of before your pipe is shipped to you.
