You can really see how much deeper and gnarlier the sandblast was in the first decades of production. The quality of the wood, combined with real sandblasting with real sand, is a big reason these finishes look so dramatic.

It goes without saying, but seeing a pipe like this for sale is almost unheard of — especially in this condition.
